The server modules of STP system, based on SQL database are running as service applications, serving the client programs of the system. These modules maintain the contact with the database, the controllers and client software.
The maintenance of the server modules is easily provided by the STP Server Guardian Manager, which can start, stop, terminate and parameterize the modules quickly and transparently.
STP system uses client-server structure. The server modules' main task - beside performing user identification and securing network traffic -, is ensuring access for the client programs to reach the database contents. We can also set up client-server communication over open network, due to the encryption strength. The server program provides the elementary functions of database maintenance as well. Amongst many other functions the server modules ensure creating security copies, during which database contents are moved to a packed backup file. Furthermore these modules perform the periodic query and processing of the database contents.
The client software can be run on different computers of the network, and/or on the server as well.
