Video signals are compressed and stored by the SC-Video module. Compression and HDD management is performed by an own developed signal processing target processor elaborated for privacy protection utilization.
| Each frame of the video is compressed separately. The Wavelet-based, JPEG2000 standard compression algorithm provides excellent image quality. Compared to the widely used JPEG algorithm, JPEG2000 produces images of one third of a size, thus enables three times longer recording time with the same HDD capacity.

| The SC-Video, using a VRMTM fault tolerant storage system developed especially for privacy protection, records on two HDDs. | ![]() |
| SC-Video records continuously. Quality and speed of the recording in motionless periods may be reduced, thus increasing recording time remarkably. |
|
| The built-in uninterruptable power supply supplies the cameras and the SComplex with energy even in case of several hours of failure in line voltage. |

Live Images
Digitalised and compressed images from analogous cameras may be observed on the net. The size and the speed of the observed images do not necessarily match the recorded video.
Recording
Walk-DVR compresses the image of the analogous cameras by frames, according to the JPEG2000 standard, then records itt o the hard drive according to the settings.
Online Archives
Recorded images can be inspected by the SCPlayer or by the Control Center client software, through the net. Recordings can be played directly from the device, thus we can narrow the period to be archived. The selected period can be played forwards or backwards, with normal or higher speed, can be paused or stepped.
Downloading a Recording (Archiving)
Saving a selected period to the computer for archiving. Since saving is not synchronised, saving through the net takes less time than that of the recorded image (in case of bandwidth not limited). How much less, will depend a long way on recording settings (image size, recording speed).
Bandwidth Limits
There may happen network situations that the available bandwidth is limited or the device has to share the given bandwidth with other devices. In this case the available bandwidth can be set for both the display software and the Walk-DVR.
Audio Expansion
The optional design of SComplex can be expanded with a 4 channel input which allows sound recording to the video images. Walk-DVR may be expanded with audio output which allows playing of pre-recorded sound or sound message announced by the operator of the Control Center software.
PTZ Camera Control
SComplex is provided with an RS-485 that can be used for the control of a PTZ camera. Key locations can be saved as positions, and can be arranged for tours. Cameras may be controlled by mouse. By clicking on a part of the image, the software positions it to the centre, and zooms in and out by scrolling. This function can be applied withControl Center software.
